Hello Everyone,

I'm in Schwaebisch Hall now. The internet situation is rather shaky, so I probably won't be able to update a lot this month.

I'm in a pretty hard German class, but I like the challenge. For our first two classes we're discussed genetic engineering and bizarre diets people decide to go on. I can tell that even after two days my understanding of the German in newspapers is better.

Anyways, I have some pictures, which is what everyone wants to see anyways. :) The first pictures are from the day I left. Check out my not-bursting-at-the-seams suitcase:

The train station in Bad Canstatt (Stuttgart)

I only have time to add a couple Schwaebisch Hall Pictures, because I have an advising meeting, but I will add more tomorrow afternoon (or morning for y'all in America).

Here is a cloudy picture of Schäbisch Hall:

Here is the outside of my bedroom (I was lucky enough to end up with a single room):

This is the view from my room:

Hi, it's Matt.

That's awesome you are in Germany.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and a lot of those words would probably be dorky.

It looks like it's awesome over there.

Bis spaeter,
Matt Thorn

Hi Suzanne,

It's great to see your first pictures from Germany. I'm glad you made all of the connections, even in a sleep deprived state! This blog is such a good way to see and hear about your experiences - wow, it seems like we will be more connected with you than we were when you were in Minneapolis! Take care, and good luck with the interent connection.

Love, Mom

Hi Suzanne,

It's great to see your message and the pictures from Germany! Looks like I could learn something from Grandma -- my first try at posting did not work but hers did. I hope you you can get an internet connection again before too long. We received your e-mail too. Dad tried to send you an e-mail and it bounced back - I hope your Augsburg e-mail is still working - we will try again. You received some mail this week here - the phone money from Central College and the postponement of Jury duty until August. Good luck with the German immersion - and have a great weekend! Love, Mom

Nice pictures. I hope you're having a good time so far in Germany.

I already miss our Scrabble nights. Did you convince the stranger next to you to play with you halfway through the flight?
